Story is an integral part of sloka learning where several morals and values are learnt by the students. Stories cover a wide gamut of genres including courage, confidence, morals, virtues, wit and fun, smarts and bravery.
In this group, students will engage in a series of philosophical discussions centered around Vedanta, Puranas, and Itihasas, exploring how these timeless teachings can be applied to real-life situations. Through group discussions, lecture sessions, and guided explorations, participants will deepen their understanding and appreciation of Sanatana Dharma, gaining insights to view and live this ancient wisdom from a balanced and informed perspective.
Parents and adults are invited to explore the principles of Vedic parenting as outlined in the Shastras and Upanishads, and engage in the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to learn mindfulness and meditation techniques, along with other enriching practices that foster personal and spiritual growth.
Parents, along with children are also taken on a field trip to temples to learn about the temple etiquettes, to build a habit of going to temples and also to recite the slokas learnt thus far.
This course is designed for seniors aged 60 and above, offering a unique opportunity to build a strong and supportive community. Participants will come together to enjoy the timeless stories of the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Upanishads, while also engaging in soulful bhajans and meditation practices. Through regular gatherings, this course fosters meaningful connections, creating a joyful and enriching environment where seniors can spend their time happily, surrounded by like-minded individuals and immersed in the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Hinduism.

Vedanta Peetam was established in 2007 by Sri Parthaji to teach Sanskrit slokas to children in the Sunnyvale neighborhood in California, US. Since then it has grown into an institution teaching not just slokas but imparting ancient wisdom through stories and discourses. Hundreds of students have benefited in the last few years through passionate and dedicated classes conducted on a weekly basis both online and at the Vedanta Peetam residence in Sunnyvale.
